Today I received
from Pond Brownstump
afar in Icebrunt’s south
a bizarre letter
that’s seldom seen
horde leaders rarely talk.
This situation,
we deal with now,
known as the Demon Plague,
we suffer it too,
far from Brownstump,
here in village Coastend.
Many of my folk
died then reborn
attack those still alive.
We try to kill them
a second time
yet always they awake.
We break their legs now,
tie them to rocks
and drop them in the sea.
Whence the plague arrived
no one here knows
nor how to conclude it.
I had my people
copy letters.
Spread the word in Coastend.
We tell visitors
of the letter
asked to share what they know.
Few caravans come
but we ask them
and give them a letter.
I wrote back, to Pond
to say that we
have the Demon Plague here.
No knowledge have I,
from whence it came
nor how to bring its end.
